Door and frame
Visible condition, damage, door-to-frame gaps, glazing and seals within the inspection scope.
FIRE DOOR SURVEYS · KENT & LONDON
Detailed doorset inspections for landlords, managing agents, housing providers and businesses. Based in Gillingham, serving Medway, Kent and London by arrangement.
FROM DOOR TO ACTION
A door may look sound but still need attention to its closer, seals, frame or ironmongery. A dedicated survey records the accessible doorsets within the agreed scope and explains the findings and recommended next steps.
Darren J Young MIFSM combines fire safety assessment work with fire door inspection and is the author of Fire Doors – The No-Nonsense Guide.

AN AGREED INSPECTION SCOPE
Visible condition, damage, door-to-frame gaps, glazing and seals within the inspection scope.
Hinges, ironmongery, closing action and any visible issues affecting the doorset’s operation.
Door identification, findings and recommended actions, with photographs and reporting detail agreed for your instruction.
Send the premises postcode, approximate number of doors, building use, available door records and any access restrictions. If an FRA has already identified door defects, include the relevant findings.
We confirm the scope, limitations, access and fee before the visit. Further investigation, opening-up work and remedial works are separately agreed.
Need a wider fire risk assessment? · Already have findings to put right?
BEFORE YOU BOOK
The agreed inspection scope can cover the visible condition and operation of the door leaf, frame, hinges, seals, gaps, glazing and self-closing arrangements. We confirm access, the doors to inspect and the reporting format before booking.
They serve different purposes. An FRA considers the wider premises within its scope. A dedicated fire door survey looks in more detail at individual doorsets. Tell us whether you need one service or both.
We agree the type of inspection and evidence you need before booking. An inspection report is not automatically product certification or approval of concealed construction. Repairs, replacement and any later verification are separately agreed.
We quote for the number of doors, their locations, access arrangements and the inspection and reporting scope. Send an approximate door count and premises postcode for a quotation.
Yes. Share the property list, approximate door count at each site and your preferred access arrangements so a coordinated scope and quotation can be agreed.
BASED IN GILLINGHAM
We arrange fire door surveys in Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Rainham and Strood, with visits elsewhere across Medway, Kent and South East London by arrangement. Send the premises postcode, approximate door count, available door records and access restrictions so the inspection and reporting scope can be agreed.
